On July 29, the wharf project for the purchased light hydrocarbon raw material supply facility for Sinopec Tianjin Branch’s Nangang ethylene plant, constructed by Company 1 of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully completed. The project is located on the west bank of Xigang Pond, to the east of the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end new materials industry cluster project in Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone. The construction scope includes the building of a new liquefied hydrocarbon terminal with a total capacity of 50,000 tons, along with associated facilities such as 4 loading and unloading arms, 4 sets of metering skids, 1 boarding ladder, 6 steel trestles, and 2 fire pumps. Since the project began, the project team has aimed for high quality and pursued meticulous management. It has overcome various challenges such as the coordinated management of construction machinery and equipment, stringent environmental protection requirements, the large weight and irregular shapes of lifting equipment, as well as the need for high precision. By adopting innovative technical solutions, establishing a comprehensive control system for the entire process, and setting up mechanisms for collaboration among different parties, the team has been able to advance the construction work efficiently. In just 4 hours, it managed to lift 4 discharge arms, setting a new record for the installation speed of such equipment. Upon completion, the terminal will, through its storage and transportation tank areas, provide services for the inbound and outbound transport of raw materials and products for projects such as the 1.2 million tons per year ethylene production facility in Tianjin Nangang, as well as other high-end new material industry clusters; it will thus offer essential logistics support to these industries and further contribute to the regional economic development.
