On November 24, Unit 4 of the boiler, a key supporting facility for Inner Mongolia Jutai New Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Jutai New Materials”)’s project to produce 1 million tons of ethylene glycol per year, was successfully brought online. All the main tasks related to the comprehensive maintenance work at Jutai New Materials were completed before winter arrived, and the system shifted from the maintenance phase to the operation phase. During this maintenance campaign, 89 tasks were completed, including the replacement of equipment components, the optimization of installation systems, and the rectification of potential hazards. With the goals of \"safety, stability, and order\" in mind, a maintenance plan was developed to establish clear time milestones. Through this maintenance work, the company’s safety foundations have been further strengthened, the operational efficiency of the equipment has improved, and the stability of the equipment during winter operations as well as its resistance to cold conditions have been effectively enhanced, thereby laying a solid foundation for ensuring safe production in winter. Going forward, Jiu Tai New Materials will complete the remaining maintenance tasks while ensuring safety, advancing them in accordance with the established timelines, so as to keep the facilities in a safe, stable, and efficient state throughout the winter operation period. This will provide solid momentum for achieving the annual production and operation goals and fostering the sustainable development of the company. As the world’s largest project for producing ethylene glycol via the hydroxymethylation process, Jutai New Materials’ 1-million-ton ethylene glycol production facility requires an investment of 13.3 billion yuan; it covers an area of 2,565 mu. The facility utilizes space-based coal gasification technology, Shell’s gasification methods, as well as the advanced hydroxymethylation process developed by Davy Company. It serves as a key component of the modern chemical industry cluster in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park in Inner Mongolia. As a key piece of equipment in the project’s power supply system, the successful ignition of Boiler No. 4 signifies the completion of the energy supply chain for the project. It provides a stable supply of steam and electricity necessary for the efficient operation of the entire installation, and it plays a decisive role in helping the project achieve its goals of generating 10.6 billion yuan in annual sales and 3.66 billion yuan in profits and taxes once it is operational. This boiler stands out in terms of technology research and development as well as manufacturing, fully reflecting the advancement and green trend of high-end chemical processing equipment. The boiler features a multi-fuel compatible design that enables efficient utilization of process by-products such as coal-derived syngas. Combined with low-nitrogen combustion technology and an efficient desulfurization system, it achieves extremely low emissions of pollutants, with levels of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter falling well below **environmental standards. During the manufacturing process, the enterprises work together with the construction and supervision units to strictly control key stages such as weld inspection and hydrostatic testing. An intelligent control system is used to achieve precise regulation of the combustion conditions, ensuring that the boiler can operate stably even when under a 20% overload condition; its thermal efficiency is more than 8% higher than that of traditional equipment. At the same time, facilities such as the electrostatic precipitators installed as part of the boiler’s environmental protection system further enhance the capacity for waste gas treatment, providing a solid foundation for the project’s \"green production\" approach. The successful ignition of Boiler No. 4 not only brings significant benefits to Jutai New Materials, but also holds profound significance for the regional industrial upgrading and green, low-carbon development. For enterprises, the operation of this equipment will significantly improve energy utilization efficiency and reduce energy consumption per unit of product. By combining it with coal-based solid waste recycling technologies, it is possible to process 20,000 tons of solid waste annually, generating economic benefits worth 100 million yuan through circular economy practices. For the industry, as a leading enterprise in modern chemical industrial clusters, Jutai New Materials drives the efficient conversion of coal through technological innovation, providing a replicable model for the coal chemical industry to transform toward higher levels of sophistication and sustainability. Once operational, the project will be able to convert approximately 4.5 million tons of coal per year, facilitating the development of the coal-based new materials industry chain and helping Inner Mongolia establish a clean and low-carbon modern energy system. In the future, JiuTai New Materials will take the successful ignition of Boiler No. 4 as an opportunity to further enhance technological innovation and cooperation between schools and enterprises, accelerate the implementation of projects aimed at extending and strengthening industrial chains, and make continuous progress in high-end fields such as special degradable materials. By leveraging new forms of productive capacity, the company will contribute to the high-quality development of the coal chemical industry, thus helping to achieve the \"dual carbon\" goals.
