I would like to ask: if the main generator set is imported and operates at 60HZ, what are the differences compared to the 50HZ frequency that we use? Please help to reply, thank you!
I know that the power frequency in Japan is 110V, 60HZ! Of course, the higher the frequency, the faster the motor will rotate! Aren’t there variable-frequency air conditioners these days? They work by changing their operating frequency in order to save energy!
Generally, resistive loads or switching power supplies are not affected, but inductive loads are significantly impacted, especially motors, as it directly changes the speed of the motors. Can the rotor speed of the generator be adjusted? It can be switched to the power frequency mode. Otherwise, use equipment that is compatible with 50HZ/60HZ.
Thank you all for your replies. Synchronous speed = 60 * power frequency / number of pole pairs. When the power frequency is 50HZ or 60HZ, the synchronous speed of the motor varies. Does the load require something different depending on the frequency? In other words, does 50HZ require load equipment designed for 50HZ, and 60HZ require load equipment designed for 60HZ? ）
For electrical loads, there are requirements regarding the supply frequency, which should generally correspond to the rated frequency indicated on the nameplate.
