I was able to start it successfully once before; the inlet pressure was 1.5 kilograms, and the gas mixture consisted mainly of methane and ethylene. The anti-surge valve was set to its full open position while the outlet valve was fully closed. However, the starting current reached 1000 A, causing the system to shut down twice. Even after shutting down all of the plant’s high-power equipment before attempting to start the compressor, it still didn’t work. Is there any way to get this compressor running?
The high current is likely due to excessive load; it is recommended to reduce the inlet pressure. Also, check whether the opening degree of the inlet guide vane is too large when starting up
