Spectrometer scanning n-hexane

Scan n-hexane with a spectrometer in the wavelength range of 240–400 nm to determine at which wavelength its absorbance is highest. What reagent should be chosen as a reference? Should I use chromatographically pure n-hexane, or no reference? Do you all have any good methods?
We are using the Shimadzu UV-2450
