As the title suggests: I’m seeking help. The total sulfur analyzer used in our low-temperature methanol washing unit is a Canadian EVENT model with a sensitivity of 0–0.5 ppm. The control limit is 0.1 ppm. The chromatographic analysis results for laboratory sampling showed 0, while the total sulfur content was 0.15. The leader suspects that there must be something that’s incorrect. Do anyone have any good suggestions?
For total sulfur analysis, instruments from Thermo Electric in the United States and Jena in Germany can be used; for hydrogen sulfide analysis, tube detection methods can be employed.
You might try Jena or Erimonta; the ultraviolet fluorescence method for sulfur gives more accurate results.
Can the test tube accurately quantify trace amounts of hydrogen sulfide?
The total sulfur in syngas is generally hydrogen sulfide and carbonyl sulfide. Its total amount can be determined using an online chromatograph equipped with an FPD detector, or by combustion-UV fluorescence analysis in a tubular furnace; both methods are viable, but the UV fluorescence method appears to have higher sensitivity. For chromatography, there are ABB, Siemens, and Yokogawa ; For ultraviolet fluorescence, there are Thermoelectric, Telydyne, Antek, etc.
Delge test tubes are available in ranges of 0.2–6 mg/m3. Is this correct.............

We use Agilent’s FPD, but due to the low frequency of sample preparation, it fails to detect anything each time. It is due to adsorption in the sampling line
Agilent has a detector specifically designed for sulfur detection, and according to Agilent’s engineers, it works well
