Recently, we have been considering installing an isopropanol plant using the propylene hydrogenation method, and are currently conducting research on it. I’m not sure what mature technologies exist in China, so I hope Haiyou can recommend some.
I would like to ask the original poster: what are the main uses of isopropyl alcohol?
Isopropyl alcohol has many uses, as listed below. The market conditions have been particularly good over the past two years, with low investment requirements and high returns, so people have started to consider installing such systems. It has a wide range of uses as an organic raw material and solvent. As a chemical raw material, it can be used to produce propylene, hydrogen peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, diisobutyl ketone, isopropylamine, isopropyl ether, isopropyl chloride, as well as isopropyl esters of fatty acids and chlorinated isopropyl esters of fatty acids. In the field of fine chemicals, it can be used to produce isopropyl nitrate, isopropyl xanthate, triisopropyl phosphite, aluminum isopropoxide, as well as products for use in pharmaceuticals and pesticides. It can also be used to manufacture diisopropyl ether, isopropyl acetate, thymol, and gasoline additives. As a solvent, it is an industrially inexpensive substance with a wide range of applications; it mixes freely with water and has a stronger ability to dissolve lipophilic substances than ethanol. It can be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, rubber, coatings, shellac, alkaloids, and more. It can be used to produce coatings, inks, extractants, aerosols, etc. It can also be used as an antifreeze, a cleaning agent, an additive in gasoline blending, a dispersant in pigment production, a fixing agent in the printing and dyeing industry, and an anti-fogging agent for glass and transparent plastics. It is used as a diluent for adhesives, as well as in antifreezes, dehydrants, etc.
It is a highly mature technology; at present, China’s production of isopropanol through propylene hydrogenation is almost dominant in Asia. May I ask where the original poster plans to carry out the project?
Shandong – but research is still underway at the moment. The price difference between propylene and isopropyl alcohol is very large right now, so it’s a good opportunity to invest in a set of equipment and make some quick money. Do you know which technology companies are available in the domestic market?
Are you working in this field, or are you familiar with this process and catalysts?
You can contact me via QQ; my profile has the QQ number
Friend, I specialize in the distribution of isopropyl alcohol. I have research reports on isopropyl alcohol; feel free to contact me
I was previously in charge of the propylene hydrogenation process
Friend, are you in charge of process management?
