l Nanjing Engineering successfully commissioned the Gulei Refining & Chemical EO/EG unit on the first attempt

At 10:06 on August 7, the 100,000/700,000 tons per year ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol plant (hereinafter referred to as the EO/EG plant), built by Nanjing Engineering Company, was officially put into operation. After 13 hours, qualified ethylene glycol product was successfully produced at 23:06, setting a record for the fastest time required to obtain qualified output upon startup in the industry. With this, the plant was fully operational, completing an important link in the entire oil refining and chemical processing chain at the Gulei facility. This facility is the largest EO/EG unit of its kind within Sinopec’s system at present, and it consists of an ethylene oxide reaction unit, an ethylene glycol reaction unit, and auxiliary production units. Construction of the facility began on June 28, 2019, and after 22 months, it was successfully completed and handed over on April 28.
