On September 12, the STPP unit of the Sino-Korean Petrochemical Polyolefins Division successfully tested the new HAR catalyst under the guidance of experts from the Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology. Compared to the DQC catalyst currently used in this device, the HAR-type catalyst possesses higher stereoregularity, which increases the catalyst’s activity by 2.5 to 3.5 times. It also significantly reduces the amount of triethylaluminum and electron donors required, enabling the ash content in the product to be reduced to below 50 ppm. The HRA-type catalyst also possesses high hydrogen regulation capability, which can reduce hydrogen consumption. The cast film products produced using this catalyst feature high gloss, low crystal points, and low ash content, which significantly improves the quality of these cast film products; they can be used in the field of aluminum-coated cast films. This time, the STPP unit drew fully on the experience of other units in testing new catalysts, prepared plans in advance, and conducted repeated studies on reaction parameters. On September 12, with the successful passing of all laboratory tests for the product’s various parameters, it was confirmed that the HRA-type catalyst had been successfully applied in STPP plants, laying a solid foundation for the company’s products to gain a foothold in the cast film market.
