This is a structural diagram of a turbine. Are these two types of seals the same? What type of seal is it? What role are they all playing?
The lubricating oil component is what’s known as a mechanical seal, something that resembles a labyrinth
There are two seals for isolating air; some refer to this as a three-stage seal. If anything is incorrect, please gently point it out
The one on the left is called an oil seal, which prevents lubricant from leaking to the coupling and causing a fire； The one on the right is called a steam seal, which prevents steam from entering the lubricating oil and causing it to emulsify. Both are sparse-tooth seals. Also, it seems from a visual inspection that this unit might be equipped with a steam seal extractor
It is the oil baffle under the comb-type shaft seal of the turbine bearing housing. Visually, there are no pressure plates or screws at either end of the oil baffle; the required gap is generally between 0.03 and 0.08 MM. Its function is to prevent oil leakage, and it is used for turning the shaft in the middle
