It is normal for the agitated thin oil to form foam; as long as it does not affect usage, foam formation is common. It's just that too much foam can cause oil leakage in the dynamic seal. The solution is to address the cause of foaming. It is most likely caused by gas flow. For reciprocating compressors, this is normal; it’s possible you haven’t been paying attention to whether there is foam in the oil level gauge.:) Take a picture to see what the foam looks like.
Check for leaks that may cause the lubricating oil to emulsify; if possible, test the quality of the oil.
