Why isn’t there a check valve at the inlet of a reciprocating compressor?

Where does it say that’s not allowed? I’ve seen everything of that kind

It would be best to send a picture of a device with an inlet that doesn’t have a one-way valve. Thank you :)
The compressor’s scope of supply does not include an inlet check valve, but one is still present on the inlet pipe; it is not included as part of the compressor
