Sealed with graphite filler and protected by nitrogen. High leakage during operation

This post was last edited by Desert Fish on 2021-11-5 at 17:32. Rotation speed: 1.5 r/min, shaft diameter: 200 mm. Currently, graphite packing is used for sealing along with nitrogen protection. There is high leakage during operation. Multiple tightening attempts still failed to effectively control the leakage. Could anyone recommend whether there are other types of sealing structures that can be used or modified?
In this situation, the surface finish of the shaft should be checked, as well as the nitrogen pressure. It would be best to send some live videos; it’s more accurate to convey things through visuals.
Maze-type gas protection can be used; if possible, modify it to use a mechanical seal :)
Check for wear at the shaft and packing, and replace the packing. The rotation speed is too low; using a packing seal should work
Medium, pressure? Could we consider using a skeleton oil seal?
