It’s common to hear people say that the front seal of a certain pump is leaking, or that the rear bearing is damaged, or something similar. I would like to ask how the front end and back end are separated? Is there a concept of front end and back end for motors?
Of course there are. Both equipment and motors have a front and rear section.
It can be understood in any way as long as the direction indicated is correct. The front end of a motor generally refers to the torque output end (i.e., the shaft end), while the front end of a pump generally refers to the side where the flange is located. Simply put, the rear end of the pump is connected to the front end of the motor. (My personal understanding)
Everyone has their own understanding. My understanding is that the front end of the pump is the non-driving end, while the back end is the driving end; however, some might think the opposite, haha
Generally, the front end of the pump is the inlet side, while the front end of the motor is the output side.
In general, for multi-stage pumps, the inlet side is the front end and the outlet side is the rear end.
The front end of the pump refers to the drive end! It might be a *common expression.
Here, we generally don’t use the terms \"front end\" and \"back end\" of the pump, as this can lead to misunderstandings; instead, we refer to the side of the pump that is near the motor (the drive side) and the non-drive side.
