We are a chemical company. We used to have boilers, but after moving to the new industrial park, it is not allowed to have boilers there, so we no longer have any boilers in the new factory. This is quite a problem; borrowing steam from the neighboring factory is expensive, costing several hundred yuan per ton. We are considering installing a smaller boiler, but coal-fired boilers are not permitted. We are thinking about using gas or electricity for heating – which option would be more cost-effective in terms of investment and the cost of generating steam?

A project that was just completed: two 8-ton boilers, one 10-ton boiler, and steam boilers with a pressure of 1.25 Mpa. The scope included auxiliary equipment as well as installation; it was a turnkey project costing 4 million yuan in total. The gas consumption per ton of steam is 76 m3, and the calorific value of the gas in Shaoguan is 8100 Kcal.
It is recommended that you use biomass boilers; this is a new energy source that is strongly encouraged for development. The fly ash can be sold as fertilizer, enabling diversified utilization.
The cost of gas is approximately 3 to 5 times that of coal; for 4 million kcal, this corresponds to about 7 tons. It is recommended to use coal powder boilers or coal slurry boilers, as such systems are permitted in most cities today. Although the initial investment cost is high, the operating costs are around 1.1 to 1.3 times those of coal-fired boilers, making the returns quite satisfactory. We have a lot of them on our end.
