The ventilation methods for heating furnaces can be divided into two main categories: natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation. In what situations are these two ventilation methods specifically used? What ventilation methods can be used in existing large-scale direct-contact heating furnaces?
Natural ventilation is generally used in furnaces with relatively low heating loads that do not recover the waste heat from the flue gases. Mechanical ventilation, also known as forced air supply, is generally used in furnaces with high loading levels that require the recovery of waste heat from the flue gases. Typically, the waste heat recovered from flue gas is used to preheat the combustion air, so an air blower is required.
There are also some small furnaces, such as heat carrier furnaces, whose burners are equipped with blowers that directly force in cold air.
