The humidifier used for experiments has an inner diameter of 600 mm and a height of 5 m; it humidifies the air by spraying hot water. Previously, wire mesh was used to remove foam, but the humidification effect was not good. I want to replace it with a different type of filler. A wire mesh filler with a high specific surface area will do
It is recommended to use a feather-leaf high-efficiency demister. The demisters used in air humidifiers are prone to scaling and blockage on their surfaces when wire mesh demisters are employed, as the air contains a large amount of liquid droplets, foam, and even dust particles, and the liquid-phase circulation rate is often high. Moreover, once the wire mesh demister in the air humidifier becomes clogged with dust particles and scale, it is very difficult to clean and restore its functionality; even after cleaning, its performance declines significantly, requiring frequent replacement with new wire mesh components. Packed internals are suitable for applications where thorough mixing and mass transfer between gas and liquid phases are required; however, they perform poorly in situations where it is necessary to prevent mixing between the gas and liquid phases, as their demisting efficiency is much lower than that of mesh types. On the other hand, packed internals have a lower operating pressure drop and greater resistance to clogging compared to mesh types. Therefore, it is recommended to use the feather-leaf high-efficiency gas-liquid demister.
