Regarding boiler superheaters and desuperheaters

Hello everyone, I have a question. First of all, why is a superheater added after the boiler outlet? ? What is its function? Why is the temperature reduced after the superheater has been heated? ? What should be done if the desuperheater or superheater is damaged? ?
A superheater is used to heat the saturated steam coming from the boiler drum into superheated steam； The desuperheater is used to adjust the superheated steam to within the required process parameters ； If the desuperheater or superheater is damaged, it needs to be repaired, and in most cases the boiler has to be shut down.
Thank you. I’d like to ask again: why is it necessary to heat the steam to a superheated state? ? Can’t it be done without overheating?
May I ask what the rated pressure at the outlet of the superheater in a medium-temperature and medium-pressure steam boiler is?
