How to control the oxygen level, flue gas temperature, and carbon monoxide level in a heating furnace? What is all this related to?
What is this heating furnace used for? It’s controlled by a DCS system; there are also oxygen content analyzers and carbon monoxide analyzers. As for the exhaust gas temperature, it depends on the composition of the gases in the exhaust stream – generally, it’s around 180°C.
Sinopec heating furnaces: convective top oxygen content, 2% to 4% for gas firing and 3% to 5% for oil firing; flue gas temperature (with waste heat recovery system) not exceeding 150°C, and CO content in the flue gas less than 100 ppm. All of these are related to the thermal efficiency of the heating furnace!
