ASME is divided into two major parts: iron-based alloys and non-ferrous-based alloys.
The previous version of GB/T150-2011 was called steel pressure vessels, excluding non-ferrous metal pressure vessels. From this point of view, metal pressure vessels include non-ferrous metal pressure vessels and steel pressure vessels. And steel pressure vessels are not all ferrous metals (such as stainless steel). It is more reasonable to divide them into iron-based and non-iron-based according to ASME.
The main reason is that the standard of tower vessels has changed from steel tower vessels to the current new standard tower vessels (the new ones are made of metal).
