Hello, experts from Haichuan: Our company is working on a project that requires the installation of one exhaust gas desulfurization tower with dimensions of Φ1400*23275*10; Weight: 10,714 kg (excluding purchased components); foot bolts of 16-M48, concrete foundation of C30. I would like to ask experts how to calculate the thickness and dimensions of the shims, as well as the total number of shims required. It would be best to specify which standards and regulations should be used for the calculations, along with detailed calculation procedures. Additionally, it’s important to know how to convert the load applied to the equipment by the shims. I am extremely grateful to all the experts for providing their insights and answers; I really appreciate it!
The standards for shims are specified in SHT3538-2005, the Standards for Installation and Acceptance of Chemical Equipment; the standards for shim installation are given in GB50231-98, the Standards for Installation of Mechanical Equipment. Either of these two standards is sufficient
It is specified in SH/T3538-2017
Do you have the SH/T3538-2017 standard? If there is any, please send it! 66851870@qq.com Thank you so much!
3538 is the specification for installing shims on moving equipment; the client is looking for the specification for installing shims on stationary equipment. I’m not sure if it can be applied in both cases The SHT3542-2007 Standard for the Installation of Static Petrochemical Equipment includes a table at the end that provides calculations and guidelines for selecting shims

I’m not sure if it can be applied in both cases In the SHT3542-2007 Standard for the Installation of Static Petrochemical Equipment, the final appendix contains a table for the calculation and selection of shims – the allowable stress of the foot bolt materials, in MPa ; How do I check this? How can I find this value? I searched online, but there was no specific explanation Could you help provide a standard or some reference material? Thank you so much! Thank you

You should know what material is used for the anchor bolts; the supplier provides a quality certificate that should contain the technical parameters you need. It is also possible to look up relevant standards based on the material of the foundation bolts (there are many standards related to bolts, and any of them can be used)

I believe that multiplying by this standard value of 100 is incorrect; please advise me! Dear HaiChuan experts: Our company is currently working on a project that requires the installation of one exhaust gas desulfurization tower with dimensions of Φ1400*23275*10 ; Weight: 38,714 kg (excluding purchased components); foot bolts of 16-M48; concrete foundation of C30 grade. I would like to ask experts how to calculate the dimensions of the shims, along with a detailed calculation process. I am very grateful to all experts for helping me with this question.
