Steam was continuously coming out of the fuel gas manifold connected to the furnace. An inspection on site revealed no leakage of flammable gases, and the temperature and pressure parameters of the furnace were also normal. The exact cause could not be determined; it is suspected that water from the boiler’s convection section has leaked into the furnace chamber, or that water vapor generated during combustion is leaking out through the gaps in the furnace tubes and condensing upon cooling. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Please share
This situation could be steam generated by combustion or a leak inside the furnace. Water vapor generated by combustion is likely to condense on the surface of the header, unless there is a leak inside the furnace. Check the insulation of the collection ducts to see if there are any signs of steam condensing into water. If the insulation is inadequate or damaged, it should be repaired to prevent cold air from coming into direct contact with the surface of the heat pipe. If a leak in the boiler water or other internal leaks are suspected, it is necessary to carefully check the sealing of the furnace chamber and the boiler water system. .

When the sand holes in the convective tube bundle inside the furnace develop leaks, the bed temperature usually drops, and water accumulates in the tail flue. The water leakage will increase rapidly, so the furnace needs to be shut down as soon as possible. (It’s the hanger of the gas pipe that allows water to seep in from below; it doesn’t seem like the pipe itself is leaking.) The water vapor generated by combustion causes dripping, and this only occurs during furnace heating; it does not happen during normal operation. (The bed temperature is relatively high; even if there is a lot of moisture, it will only become apparent after the temperature in the tail flue drops.) This does not occur in coal-fired furnaces.) It is recommended to take protective measures, remove the insulation layer, and check where the water source is located as well as whether there are any leaks in the welds.
First, assuming that there is no water leakage or other substances seeping in, it is likely that the insulation effect is poor, which leads to changes in air density and thus causes light to refract. It’s similar to what happens on asphalt roads in summer. It’s just my personal guess; please don’t criticize me if I’m wrong, haha
