4,000-ton tower equipment for South Korea’s largest petrochemical project manufactured and shipped in Zhangjiagang

At 9:30 a.m. on February 6, at the Zhangjiagang Gangxin Heavy Equipment Terminal, a hydrocarbon fractionator with a total weight of nearly 4,000 tons and a value of around 93 million yuan was loaded onto the deck barge \"Haifeng Nengjian\" and set sail successfully for Ulsan, South Korea. The Zhangjiagang Maritime Bureau takes the initiative to engage in close cooperation and provide proactive support, working hard to ensure the smooth shipment of these projects and helping more high-end equipment manufactured in Zhangjiagang to reach international chemical markets. 　　 The SHAHEEN project is a petrochemical facility funded and constructed by Saudi Aramco; it represents one of the largest investments in South Korea’s petrochemical industry to date, with the aim of establishing large-scale petrochemical production facilities in the country. The project includes the construction of petrochemical production equipment, with an expected annual output of 3.2 million tons of petrochemical products. Furui Heavy Equipment, a local manufacturing enterprise based in Zhangjiagang, took on the task of designing and producing the core chemical equipment for this project. Of the three columns loaded on this shipment, the largest one, an propylene fractionator, is approximately 120 meters long and 8.5 meters in diameter; it has a total of 177 trays, and its net weight is 2,043 tons. This is the first time the company has manufactured pressure vessel equipment weighing over 2,000 tons, marking a significant milestone as it represents an important step forward for local manufacturers in Zhangjiagang in terms of growing stronger and pursuing an international strategy. 　　To ensure a smooth roll-on/roll-off operation and the safety of ship navigation, Zhangjiagang Maritime Bureau proactively addressed the needs of local enterprises by organizing safety coordination meetings to guide ships in formulating scientific measures for ensuring navigation safety and emergency response plans. By utilizing the heavy cargo supervision service system, it is possible to keep track of ship arrivals and departures as well as the roll-on/roll-off cargo handling plans in a timely manner, and to carefully review important data such as ship stability and deck strength. Pay close attention to the roll-on/roll-off operation plan, and strengthen on-site inspections to ensure that safety passages for crew members are unobstructed and that anchoring and securing procedures are properly implemented. In light of factors such as meteorological warnings for cold snaps and high water traffic volumes during the second half of the Spring Festival travel season, safety training for crew members is carried out in advance, real-time meteorological information services are provided, and dynamic and real-time ship traffic management is implemented. Assessing the navigation safety risks during the dry season of the Yangtze River, smart maritime systems are utilized to ensure the safe navigation of ships, thereby helping to accelerate the process of lifting and delivering super-large tower structures.
