With the arrival of the new year 2024, a fresh start awaits. In November 2023, the large plate-and-shell heat exchangers designed and manufactured by Shanghai Lanbin, which is part of Lanke High-Tech, for a refinery in Kazakhstan were successfully shipped off. This marks another instance of Shanghai Lanbin’s advanced technology in heat exchanger manufacturing being exported abroad, opening a new chapter for the company’s activities in this field. As early as 2009, Shanghai Lanbin supplied the first large-scale plate-and-shell heat exchanger to a refinery in Kazakhstan, replacing foreign counterparts in the Central Asian market for the first time. Having withstood 14 years of operational testing, it has met the requirements for long-term operation of such facilities. In recent years, Shanghai Lanbin has been increasing its investment in technical research and development as well as product upgrades for large plate-and-shell heat exchangers, resulting in equipment with improved performance and greater reliability. Since the signing of the project, Shanghai Lanbin assembled its best team to overcome challenges such as tight supplies of raw materials, short manufacturing cycles, and a shortage of personnel. It completed the product manufacturing 20 days ahead of schedule and carried out the factory acceptance inspection in the presence of the client. This effort was highly recognized and praised by both the client, the Kazakhstani refinery, and the general contractor, China National Petroleum Technology Development Corporation. Large plate-and-shell heat exchangers are key core equipment in the aromatic units of oil refining and chemical plants. They are primarily used in the heat exchange stages for the inlet and outlet streams of these units, playing an important role in recovering the heat from the reaction gases and oils, reducing the load on the heating furnaces, and lowering the energy consumption of the units. Their performance has a direct impact on the product quality as well as the energy-saving and emission-reduction objectives of the entire plant. At present, the large plate-shell heat exchangers developed by Shanghai Lanbin are not only useful in the oil refining industry but are also widely applied in fields such as coal chemical engineering and fine chemical manufacturing, with their technical level ranking among the best in the world. Large plate-and-shell heat exchangers boast advantages such as high heat transfer efficiency, low pressure drop, small temperature difference between the hot and cold sides, compact structure, high temperature resistance, and wide applicability. Over the years, Shanghai Lanbin has adhered to the philosophy of \"technological innovation and quality first,\" providing customers with top-quality products and services while striving to build a technologically leading brand in the industry.

Kazakhstan has three major refineries: the Atrau Refinery (established in 1985), the Shymkent Refinery (established in 1945), and the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (established in 1971), all of which utilize technology from the former Soviet Union. Since 2010, Sinopec and CNPC have begun modernization upgrades relying on Chinese technology. The first round of renovations was completed in 2015, and the second round of upgrades began in 2017; it is now largely finished.
