The coated drum is an important component used by manufacturers in their production processes to transmit power for material transfer, and it also constitutes a vital part of the transportation system. A coated drum is one in which the drum body is coated with resin during the manufacturing process of drum coating, in accordance with the material production requirements of different manufacturers. Coated rollers are mainly divided into cold vulcanization and hot vulcanization methods, which are what are commonly referred to as cold bonding coating and hot bonding coating. Heat-adhesive coating involves evenly covering the surface around the drum with a complete layer of adhesive, and drums manufactured using this heat-adhesive coating method perform better during production operations. However, the production cost of heat-adhesive tape is very high. At the production site, when the adhesive surface on the drum wears out, the bolts of the conveyor become exposed, which can damage the tape, and it is difficult to repair the adhesive surface immediately. The manufacturing process for heat-adhesive tape is relatively complex; it not only requires a long time for repairs, but also involves high levels of physical strain and difficulty in production. It also places high demands on the workers involved, which makes it difficult to meet the needs of manufacturers for large-scale production. Cold vulcanized casting adhesive is used by exposing a portion between the upper and lower belts of the drive drum; a high-strength adhesive that cures at room temperature is then applied evenly to the surface of the drum in sequence, thereby increasing the friction between the belts and the drum. Drums manufactured using the cold vulcanization casting method eliminate the tedious task of removing the drum and belt, and their production process is simple. This results in savings in labor and effort during manufacturing; not only are the production costs relatively low, but these drums also perform well in actual use. During cold adhesive wrapping operations, if the adhesive surface of the drum is damaged or worn, the drum can be repaired on-site. Currently, the cold adhesive sealing process is widely used; therefore, rollers that employ this process are one of the most common types of components chosen by factories and mines for material transportation during production operations. Coating the drums can effectively improve the performance of material transport during production processes, prevent the conveyor belt from slipping, and protect the metal drums from wear. It also helps to reduce sliding friction between the drums and the belt, thereby minimizing the sticking of materials to the surface of the drums. This reduces belt deviation and wear, ensures that the drums and the belt operate in sync during transportation, and facilitates efficient material transport.
