During the retrofit of the ultra-low emission project, the impeller of the exhaust fan was replaced due to an increase in the overall system resistance. To prevent the bag filter from being flattened, cross supports have been added inside the bags. During subsequent operation, it was found that the filter bags frequently collided with the supports, resulting in localized wear and damage to the bags. The bags used in bag dust collectors all have a frame (a cylindrical cage), and the bag is fitted tightly around this frame. This situation is caused by the increased suction capacity of the fan. Due to the excessive gap between the bag and the cross brace, the bag expands when subjected to reverse airflow; this creates a large gap with the frame. Under normal operating conditions, the bag stays in close contact with the frame, and frequent friction leads to localized damage of the bag. The damaged area should be at the corners of the cross brace.
