Due to their simplicity, ease of use in conveying materials, and high efficiency, non-powered rollers play a significant role in transportation processes, **reducing the costs associated with manual handling. Non-powered rollers are manufactured by taking into account factors such as the diameter of the tube, the material used for the outer layer, the material used for the axis, the diameter of the axis, the wall thickness, and the calculation methods related to dimensions. Currently, the idler rollers used by most companies fall into several categories. One type is made from yellow PP material; it features end caps and consists of an idler roller for a conveyor with a non-powered internal toothed shaft. Another type is manufactured using metal as the primary material, and it also has no end caps, being an idler roller for a conveyor with a non-powered internal toothed shaft. Due to differences in the materials used for their manufacture, these two types of free rollers are employed on a different scale. Regarding the components of a free-spinning drum, we will introduce them from the following aspects: First, drums such as cylinder bodies are generally made from circular tubes, and the common materials for such tubes include steel pipes and plastic pipes. The required application intensity is relatively high; perhaps the precision of the application is also high, and round steel materials can be used as well. Secondly, the material used for manufacturing inner shafts like these is round steel. For those with a relatively small diameter, we can directly use cold-drawn round steel; for those with a larger diameter, where higher precision is required, we can employ machining methods. Third, regarding the end caps for idler drums that do not require power, the material used for their fabrication is carbon steel. For applications where the weight is not significant, these components can be manufactured directly through stamping; whereas for those that require a larger diameter, machining methods can be employed. These are roughly the components of a non-powered roller; when making a choice, be sure to select one that is suitable for your needs.
