Nozzle flow meters are primarily used in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, metallurgy, power generation, and light industry for measuring the flow rate of liquids, steam, and gases. So how is a nozzle flowmeter installed? What are the installation requirements and precautions for nozzle flowmeters? The following provides a detailed introduction for everyone. Installation method and precautions for nozzle flowmeters: When the pressure difference before and after the pipeline is large, it is necessary to use standard nozzles. The principle of operation of a nozzle flowmeter is as follows: As fluid flows through the pipeline, the local resistance of the standard nozzle causes a decrease in the fluid’s pressure and an energy loss; this phenomenon is known in thermodynamics as throttling. The installation method for this type of nozzle flow meter is simpler than that using control valves, but it is necessary to select an appropriate nozzle flow meter; otherwise, cavitation may occur in the liquid, affecting the safe operation of the pipeline. Ten requirements for the installation of nozzle flowmeters: 1. A location where it is easy to provide separate grounding for the sensor ; 2. Install the nozzle flow meter in a way that direct sunlight is avoided as much as possible ; 3. Try to ensure that the straight pipe sections before and after are at least 5D and 2D respectively ; 4. Try to avoid areas with high concentrations of corrosive gases in the surrounding environment. 5. When installing a nozzle flow meter, try to avoid negative pressure forming inside the measurement tube ; 6. When measuring mixed-phase fluids, select a location that will not cause phase separation ; 7. When measuring two-component liquids, avoid filling them downstream where the mixing has not yet been uniform ; 8. When installing a nozzle flow meter, choose a location with minimal vibration, especially for integrated instruments ; 9. When measuring chemical reaction pipelines, the nozzle flow meter should be installed downstream of the section where the reaction is fully completed ; 10. When installing a nozzle flow meter, it should be avoided to have large motors, large transformers, etc. in the vicinity, to prevent interference with the nozzle field.
