Since its introduction to the Chinese market, Rosemount transmitters have been well received by a large number of customers. However, in actual production and application, it is necessary to possess a good deal of basic knowledge about Rosemount transmitters in order to make full use of them. Because if there are problems, it might not work well. This article discusses some issues in the range calibration of Rosemount transmitters. Knowing the pressure or differential pressure value of a Rosemount transmitter, how can one determine the current value? Examples are still needed to provide a detailed explanation: For instance, a Rosemount transmitter has a maximum pressure value of 4000 Pa and an output current of 4–20 mA. What is the output current of this transmitter at 1000 Pa? First, let’s explain each parameter: Ix: The output current value of the transmitter at the point in question; △p: The known pressure applied to the Rosemount transmitter ; △On p: The known upper pressure limit for the Rosemount transmitter ; 16+4: This represents the current output value of the Rosemount transmitter. Since the transmitter outputs 4mA when it is at zero position, the actual output should be 20–4=16; therefore, 4mA needs to be added in the calculation ; 4: The output current value when the Rosemount transmitter is at zero position. Therefore, through calculation, it is determined that at a pressure of 1000 Pa, the current value of the Rosemount transmitter is 8 mA.
