Dear experts: There is a problem that requires your advice. During the installation of the facility, the primer on the steel structures was not applied properly; as a result, over the years corrosion has caused bulging and peeling of the fire-resistant coating, with sections of this coating falling off. We are now required to carry out repairs, and according to the standards, the rust removal on the steel structures should reach SA2.5 level (although it’s likely difficult to achieve this standard in practice). If the rust removal is not thorough, similar problems will continue to occur. Do you have any good suggestions regarding rust removal on the steel structures while the facility is in operation?~
We have the same problem: the entire fireproof coating on the steel structure is peeling off. Especially during the rainy season.
