The main problems with low surface treatment refer to treatment methods using manual or power tools; in other words, it is a surface treatment process that meets only minimal requirements, achieved through manual rust removal or rust removal using power tools. The concept of low surface treatment as understood by professionals does not match that used by workers in actual work, which is why serious surface treatment problems often arise during construction. The main problems associated with surface treatment in practical applications include the following: ① Rust removal. In the coating protection of steel, surface rust removal is the main aspect of surface treatment. Relatively speaking, the surface treatment for newly launched projects is relatively easy to handle. Generally, new steel products come with temporary protective coatings, so their surfaces do not have much or thick rust layers. Moreover, the construction work is usually carried out in well-equipped factories or shipyards, which allows for achieving a good level of rust removal ； For the repair of some old projects, surface treatment becomes a rather difficult issue to resolve. Issues of this kind arise in areas such as the maintenance of old oil tanks and pipelines in petrochemical systems, as well as the maintenance of naval ships; the reason is that after a period of use, the surface of the steel plates becomes severely corroded. This has given rise to the issue of painting over oil. ③Moisture problem. Different types of coatings have varying sensitivities to moisture; some require moisture in order to cure and form a film, while others cannot tolerate any presence of moisture. In the field of corrosion prevention, moisture is one of the main causes of steel rusting; therefore, to achieve good corrosion resistance, dehumidification is also a very important task, which leads to the issue of wet coating. Rusted coating, oily coating, and wet coating are the three main problems present in current low-surface-treatment methods.
