Grade Sa2: thorough sandblasting for rust removal – the surface must be free of any visible oils, dirt, oxide scales, rust, paint coatings, or impurities; any remaining residues should be firmly attached to the surface. Grade Sa2.5: extremely thorough sandblasting for rust removal – the surface must be free of any visible oils, dirt, scale, rust, paint coatings, or impurities; any remaining traces should only appear as slight spot-like or streaky discolorations. Grade Sa3 sandblasting for rust removal to achieve a clean steel surface: the surface must be free of visible oils, dirt, scale, rust, paint coatings, and impurities, with a uniform metallic color.
