Is there a way to quickly extinguish steam? Water quenching or other methods? If it is water quenching, what kind of device would be suitable? Thank you first! ! !
In the past, some oil pump rooms used steam for fire suppression. Along one or 2–3 walls of the pump room, at a height of 100–200 above the ground, steam pipes are installed; small holes are made in these pipes at horizontal levels and at a 45° upward angle. The steam valve is outside the pump room. Once a fire breaks out, the valve is opened and the pump room is filled with steam. Oxygen is isolated, and the fire goes out naturally.
