Problem with failing to install the database during Aspen Plus 8.4 installation

This post was last edited by kooyv168 on 2017-9-30 at 11:09. I would like to ask the experts here: After installing ASPEN PLUS 8.4 following the tutorial, it shows that the database installation failed. When trying to test it using the ASPEN Database Tester, there is no option other than CANCEL, which allows the software to open. This has happened four times; the software can be opened but it’s unable to connect to the database and thus cannot be used. I hope experts can provide some guidance. Thank you! If this problem can be solved, I am willing to give away 10 gold coins. Thank you! The screenshot is as follows: (Waiting online!) )

Right-click and try to run tester as an administrator

It’s not for that reason; the issue has been resolved now. It was a problem with the SQL installation, but thanks anyway!

Download SQL Server 2005 or 2012 from Microsoft (depending on what your system supports), and copy the entire folder from the Program Data/Aspen Tech/APED V8.4/ folder on the computer where Aspen was installed successfully (located on drive C), which contains config.aem. Paste it into the directory corresponding to the computer that cannot connect to the database. Open the Aspen Database Manager, right-click on \"Register Database\", select one from the three databases (APV84, FACTV84, NISTV84), and re-register the three databases in sequence. It worked after testing it myself!
