Can only mass flow rate be entered for Exchanger Design and Rating? I can’t find the unit for volumetric flow rate of gas input
When doing the calculations, mass is definitely more straightforward to use; there’s no option to enter volumetric flow rate. If such an option were available, you would still need to enter the density as well. It’s actually the same thing – if you really don’t want to use mass flow rate, it should be possible to enter the flow information in Plus as well
Well, for a mixed gas, you also need to calculate the density, which is a bit troublesome
Entering it in Aspen Plus isn’t troublesome; otherwise you’ll still need to enter the properties later, so it’s simpler to just transfer them from Plus directly
Mm-hmm, that’s right. By the way, do you know that in Aspen Plus, it’s necessary to specify the flow rates for the hot and cold streams in the simulated heat exchanger? For heat exchanger calculations, in EDR it is possible to omit one flow rate – simply specifying the inlet and outlet temperatures and pressures is sufficient. I believe Aspen Plus also provides a default value for this; when water is used for cooling, the flow rate isn’t specified, so it still needs to be calculated
It is not necessary to enter logistics information; there is an option for utility materials in the heat exchange model, and their properties are automatically included
Where can I set it? I couldn’t find it :(
