Can steam condensate be used instead of steam as the heat source for a reboiler? Has anyone done a project like this?
Yes, our reboiler makes use of hot water
If the quantity is sufficient, the heat exchange area is sufficient, and the temperature difference is sufficient, then it’s okay
Of course, it’s possible – it depends on the difference in temperature between the boiling point of the material you need to heat and that of the steam condensate
I’m not very expert; MVR involves secondary compression, and it seems a bit similar
