As a design tool, CAD has long been a trusted partner for design engineers in their work. But how can this \"trusted partner\" cooperate more effectively in daily tasks, so as to achieve fast CAD drawing results? Enabling HaoChen CAD 2020 allows users to create drawings using the default template settings, but since users or organizations need to establish industry-specific templates that conform to their daily work requirements and industry standards, different templates are required. Therefore, setting up the drawing environment before drawing is a necessary process that also greatly helps to facilitate rapid drawing later on. The drawing unit setting, namely the unit of measurement used in design, determines how all objects created are measured; therefore, before drawing a graphic, it is necessary to specify what unit represents actual size. To call the method for setting graphic units: [File] — [Graphic Utilities] — [Units], or enter units in the command line (press Enter); the [Graphic Units] dialog box then provides options for length units, angle units, precision, and coordinate direction. 1. Length units: HaoChen CAD 2020 offers 5 length units for users to choose from, including “Architectural”, “Decimal”, “Engineering”, “Fractional”, and “Scientific”. Among these, the “Engineering” and “Architectural” formats display values in feet and inches, assuming that each graphic unit represents one inch. Other formats can represent any real-world unit. The CAD drawing unit is inherently dimensionless; users can consider it as the actual unit used to draw the graphics, with millimeters (mm) being the default unit for metric graphics. In the \"Precision\" option under the \"Length\" option, you can choose the precision level for the length; for those in mechanical design, \"0.00\" is usually selected, while for engineering fields, \"0\" is chosen. 2. Angle units: For angle units, Haochen CAD also provides 5 types, including “degrees,” “degrees/minutes/seconds,” “radians,” “survey units,” and “decimal degrees.” Users can set the appropriate unit according to their professional needs; the default is decimal degrees, which are expressed in decimal form. “For the \"Precision\" option under \"Angle\", choose \"0\" as a default; make adjustments only if there are special requirements. “For the “clockwise” checkbox, checking it will cause positive angle values to be calculated in a clockwise direction. The default positive angle direction is counterclockwise; that is, this option is not selected. Thus, during drawing, when the user is prompted to enter an angle, they can click the desired direction or enter the angle directly, without having to consider a clockwise setting. 3. To set the direction, select the [Direction] button below the [Graphic Units] dialog box. Typically, the system sets “East” as the 0-degree direction; users can also choose other directions or any angle (by selecting ‘Other’ and entering a value) to use as the 0-degree direction. Confirmed, the graphic unit settings have been completed. No.2 Saves the configured drawing environment as a standard template. CAD provides template files with a uniform format and paper size; however, many users need templates that fit the design conventions of their industry or company. In the Save As dialog box, the user can select a graphic template (*dwt), enter the name for that template file, and then use it again in subsequent design tasks. Users can place the template files in a specified folder to facilitate unified access; they can use \"Options\" or the command line with the op command to retrieve and check the location of the system’s template graphics.
