Object capture is one of the commonly used functions in CAD drawing, as there are many selectable points on the objects in a graphic. When using HaoChen CAD for drawing, it is necessary to use these points for precise positioning. But how can one achieve more accurate positioning? Next, I’ll share with you the tips for using the object snap commands in the comprehensive list of CAD shortcut key commands! To enable the object snap feature: enter the shortcut command ONSAP in the command line, or open the Object Snap settings dialog box in the sketch settings, check the option to enable object snap (F3), and then click OK. Using the shortcut key F3, you can turn object snap on or off; simply press F3 to switch it. Ribbon: Locate the object snap button on the menu bar and enable this feature. Types of object snapping: Object snapping comes in various types, with temporary object snapping and automatic object snapping being the most common. Let’s take a look at each one: Temporary object snapping: Temporary object snapping refers to a situation where, when the user needs to use this feature, it is activated through specific methods, and its effect is applied to the point specified by the user the next time; this effect lasts only once. Method to enable temporary object snapping: In the drawing area, hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and then right-click the mouse; this allows you to select the snapping method as desired, as shown in the figure below. Automatic object snapping: Automatic object snapping means that when a user needs to use the same object snapping feature multiple times, they can rely on this automatic function until they manually turn it off. Method to enable automatic object snapping: Enter the shortcut OSNAP in the command line, then press Enter to confirm, which will open the Object Snap settings dialog box within the sketch settings. Options for object snapping: We can easily set the size of the object snapping markers, the size of the target boxes, and more. The steps are as follows: 1. Open the object snapping dialog box (enter OSNAP in the command line and press Enter), then click on the options at the bottom left ; 2. In the opened options dialog box, we can set options such as snap markers and target box size, as shown in the figure below. The above covers the usage tips for the object snap commands in the HaoChen CAD shortcut key guide; I hope it can be helpful to everyone~
