After using the HaoChen CAD drawing software to create drawings, sometimes problems arise with certain CAD text elements once those CAD graphics are copied into a Word document. How can this be resolved? Next, I’ll explain the reasons behind this problem as well as the solutions! Solution to the problem where text copied from Haochen CAD into Word appears as black boxes: As shown in the figure below, when graphics from Haochen CAD are copied into a Word document, the text annotations inside them turn into black boxes. How can this be resolved? In fact, this issue is caused by the settings related to multi-line text. When we open the drawing and double-click on the text that appears as a black box in Word, we enter the multi-line text editor interface. In this editor, clicking the mask button takes us to the background mask settings window, as shown in the figure below. It can be seen that the option for using a background mask is selected; this is where the problem lies. When this option is chosen, the background of the multi-line text is also copied to the Word document when it is copied, which is why what appears to be a black box actually contains text. So the simplest solution is to uncheck the option before using the background mask, and then proceed with copying. In most cases, background masks are not used for multi-line CAD text, so it is sufficient to simply disable them; they can be re-enabled whenever they are actually needed.
