A loop is added between the regenerator tower and the alcohol removal pump; this causes the software to freeze during calculations

In the ethylene glycol circulation system, the ethylene glycol coming out of the bottom of the regeneration tower needs to be recycled back to the alcohol pump; a circulation element is added in between. After starting the calculations, HYSYS freezes up immediately – why is that?
The flow difference between the alcohol injection port and the outlet of the regeneration tower is less than 2 percent. Is this due to an infinite loop resulting from the iteration not being able to converge, or is there some other reason?
