Due to gas supply restrictions during winter, the main gas-based production facilities in Qinghai are currently shut down for maintenance, with production expected to resume in late March 2021. The prevailing transaction price in Linfen, Shanxi region, has stabilized at 2060–2100 yuan per ton, as per the price offered by manufacturers upon delivery ; The offline price in the Changzhi area is 2,230 yuan per ton, with payment made via bank transfer from the factory ; In the Jincheng region, the prevailing transaction price remains stable at 2,180 yuan per ton, on a works-delivery basis with payment in foreign currency. The methanol market in Henan is operating in a stable manner, with light trading activity. Futures prices have dropped sharply, affecting buyers’ willingness to purchase. Quotations from enterprises in Henan remain stable; most of these enterprises are fulfilling contracts and shipping goods, with a reference price of 2240–2250 yuan per ton for cash payment at the factory. In the Luoyang market, the reference price is 2220–2250 yuan per ton for cash payment upon delivery. In the Two Lakes region, local quotes in the methanol market have risen. Hubei-based companies have raised their quotes; the actual ex-factory price is around 2450–2500 yuan per ton, with payment to be made by bank transfer ; In the Hunan market, offers are noted at 2,600–2,620 yuan per ton on a delivered basis in cash; only small orders have been transacted. The methanol market in Fujian has seen a significant decline; the prices at the major warehouses in Quangang area have dropped by 70–80 yuan per ton, with prices ranging from 2530 to 2560 yuan per ton including taxes. In Xiamen, some offers are at 2630 yuan per ton including taxes ; There is limited in-market demand; futures are weakening, with most end-users adopting a wait-and-see attitude.
