A question from a beginner: For example, in chemical processing, the labeling on equipment pipes indicates \"-35°C cold water\". But I see that the actual temperature gauge shows -25°C (the temperature gauge is working properly, and the actual temperature is indeed -25°C); so why is it still indicated as -35°C cold water? I asked the veteran workers, and they told me that it has always been called that way. May I ask which expert can offer some guidance?
It should be frozen saline for industrial use, or a low-temperature coolant. It would be best for the poster to describe both the medium in that pipeline and its role in the manufacturing process.

The sign on site read “-35°C cold water”; I confirmed with the process engineers that the medium in question was chilled brine. If this expert really has experience or can help clarify things, I would be very welcome to that. But getting pedantic has nothing to do with your level of expertise in chemical engineering. Furthermore, forums are platforms for communication. There is a difference between frozen saltwater and cold water, but that has nothing to do with nonsense; whether something is nonsense or not depends on whether it comes from a professional. Even chatting with experts can be rewarding
The person upstairs is truly an expert; take a look at some of the problems he analyzed in the past. As for why it is called -35-degree chilled water, it is likely that the designed temperature is -35 degrees, which represents the lowest temperature level that can be achieved.
