Total investment of 3.383 billion yuan! The EPC general contract for the treatment of emissions from the low-temperature methanol washing process in the second phase of the Datang Keqi project has been awarded. Recently, the results of the bidding process for this EPC contract were made public. The consortium formed by Sinochem Environment Atmospheric Treatment Co., Ltd. and Sinochem Luxi Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid, with the bid amount being 94.66 million. The EPC turnkey contract for the treatment of emissions from the low-temperature methanol washing process in the Phase II project of Datang Keqi includes the basic and detailed engineering design, procurement, and supply, as well as construction and commissioning of various systems such as civil works, architecture, process engineering, equipment, piping, instrumentation and automation, electrical systems, water supply and drainage, fire protection, communication systems, lighting, HVAC, and analysis and testing. It covers all tasks from individual unit tests and mechanical completion up to the intermediate handover of the project. Additionally, technical guidance and support services are provided to the client during stages such as combined tests, trial operations with feedstock, actual operation, and performance evaluation. The Phase II coal-to-natural gas project in Keqi, Datang, is a **demonstration project for the clean conversion of coal**. With a total investment of 3.383 billion yuan, it is located in the Circular Economy Industrial Park in Keqisheteng Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. The project completed the entire production process and began producing qualified natural gas in October 2023; it was put into full operation in August 2024, achieving an annual production capacity of 600 million cubic meters of natural gas, 800,000 tons of methanol, and 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol. The by-products include resources such as sulfur and crude phenol. Technologically, processes such as pressurized gasification of coal, low-temperature methanol washing, and DAVY methanization are employed. The new RTO waste gas treatment units installed in 2025 passed a 72-hour performance test, reducing indirect carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 150,000 tons per year. Technical challenges related to preventing equipment freezing in cold regions were overcome, and the environmental performance metrics far exceed **the standards. As an important gas supply source for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the operation of this project has increased the total gas supply capacity of the Keqi base to 2.667 billion cubic meters per year. It has created over 2,000 jobs, generated annual tax revenues in the tens of millions of yuan, and works in tandem with the \"photovoltaic desert control\" projects in the Hunshandake Sandland to achieve a win-win situation for both the environment and the economy. In the future, Phase 3 of the project will be carried out, ultimately achieving a total production capacity of 4 billion cubic meters per year, thereby continuing to provide a model approach for **energy security and low-carbon transformation.
