Sunshine Investment has launched a tender for the technical processes related to the integrated demonstration project in Daan, Jilin, which involves the use of wind and solar energy to produce hydrogen, combined with biomass to generate green methanol. The amount invested is 1.66 billion yuan. Date: September 23, 2025. On September 22, Sunshine New Energy Development Co., Ltd. issued a tender for the technologies and specialized equipment needed for this project, which aims to produce 250,000 tons of green methanol per year. The technologies required include those for biomass gasification, methanol synthesis, and MDEA-based carbon removal. For the gasification process, a fluidized bed technology is to be used; candidates must have experience in operating fluidized bed systems with a capacity of over 1,000 tons per day and under pressures of at least 3.0 MPa. Additionally, experience in transferring fluidized bed gasification technology is required ； The methanol synthesis process package requires a plant capacity of 200,000 tons per year or more, along with at least one year of stable operation ； The MDEA decarbonization process package requires at least one instance of successful industrial operation with a MDEA treatment capacity of 50,000 NM3/h for over one year. According to Coal Chemical Industry 365, Dalian Chengyang Green Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sungrow Power Supply, plans to invest 1.66 billion yuan in building facilities for hydrogen production through water electrolysis, biomass gasification, and methanol synthesis, as well as related supporting systems and storage and transportation infrastructure, within the Daan Economic Development Zone in Baicheng. The designed production capacity is approximately 250,000 tons of green methanol per year. The project was registered in November 2024, and Donghua Technology completed the overall design review for this project in August 2025.
