CNPC Engineering signs $513 million EPC contract for 180-km LNG pipeline in UAE

On September 21, CNPC Engineering issued a announcement stating that its wholly-owned subsidiary, China National Petroleum Pipeline Bureau Engineering Co., Ltd., had recently signed an EPC contract with ADNOC Gas Operations & Marketing L.L.C. for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) transmission pipeline project in the United Arab Emirates. The value of the contract is 513 million US dollars (approximately 3.688 billion yuan). The project starts at the gas processing plant at the HABSHAN oil field in Abu Dhabi, with its terminal located at the liquefied natural gas plant in the RUWAIS industrial area. It includes 56-inch gas pipelines totaling approximately 25.8 kilometers in length, as well as 52-inch gas pipelines spanning 154.7 kilometers. The project also involves accompanying optical cables, 31 trenchless crossings, 3 pump stations, and 6 valve rooms. The planned timeline for completing the project’s temporary acceptance is 36 months, followed by a 12-month warranty period. It is reported that ADNOC Gas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s oil company, and it is one of the world’s leading integrated gas producers and operators. Its main activities include natural gas processing, LNG operations, and gas transmission pipelines, meeting over 60% of the United Arab Emirates’ demand for gas products. CNPC Engineering stated that this contract will not have a significant impact on the company’s total assets, net assets, and net profit for the current year, but it will have a positive effect on operating revenue and total profits over the next 3 to 4 years.
