The engineering design of modern chemical projects requires effective collaboration among various specialized fields, and it is highly comprehensive and scientific in nature. The exchange of design materials among different specialties serves as an important basis for them to carry out their design work. The accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of such exchanges are directly related to the quality of the design. Moreover, having a clear understanding of the content and requirements of these exchanged materials provides a practical means for controlling both the quality and progress of the design. Drawing on the experience accumulated from previous design projects carried out by design institutes, this article summarizes and describes in as much detail as possible the standards regarding \"the depth of design data exchanged among various specialties\". Note: The overall allocation of funds among different specialties generally follows these guidelines. However, depending on the specific arrangements of the organization and the actual conditions of the project, it is necessary to determine, before the project begins, what kind of fund allocations are required among the various specialties involved in that particular project. Different organizational structures and projects result in varying methods and details of implementation; therefore, adjustments need to be made to ensure that the fund allocations among specialties are appropriate, practical, and comprehensive. Ultimately, as a command system, we need to, based on the contributions provided by various specialties, categorize and refine them to develop a precise list of requirements related to design, procurement, and suppliers that the command system must actively address and resolve, thereby serving as the foundational support for the command system. Principles: ① Each specialty shall provide design materials to other specialties based on the overall project plan, the detailed design schedule, and the requirements of its own specialty regarding related specialties ; ② The minimum requirement for exchanging information is to follow the contents and standards specified in the design documents ; ③ The exchange of documents shall be carried out in accordance with the forms and requirements specified by the quality system of the respective organizations ; ④ Modify and supplement the mutually shared materials as designed, strictly through face-to-face meetings or email ; ⑤ When a non-process-related specialty is responsible for the main specialty’s design, the main specialty should provide a list of materials that meet the design requirements to all other specialties, based on the content and depth standards suggested by the process-related specialty ; ⑥ The exchange of documents during the feasibility study phase can be carried out in accordance with the standards of the preliminary design phase. Contents required for funding submission in the project design process (by specialty): ① Content and depth of funding requests submitted by the general layout specialty to various other specialties ; ② The content and depth of resources requested by the process engineering department from various other departments ; ③ The content and depth of funding requests submitted by the architecture field to various other fields ; ④ The structural engineering department specifies the content and depth of requirements for various other disciplines ; ⑤ Contents and depth of funding requests submitted by the water supply and drainage specialty to various other specialties ; ⑥ Contents and depth of funding requests submitted by the HVAC discipline to various other disciplines ; ⑦ Contents and depth of funding requests submitted by the heat engine specialty to various specialties ; ⑧ Contents and depth of funding requests submitted by the electrical engineering department to various departments ; ⑨ Contents and depth of funding provided by the telecommunications specialty to various other specialties ; ⑩ Contents and depth of funding requests submitted by the automation control specialty to various specialties ; ⑪ The equipment specialty provides the content and depth of funding requirements for various specialties. The project design process requires various forms related to funding requests: ① Table of information exchange during the preliminary design phase; ② Table of information exchange once during the construction drawing design phase; ③ Table of information exchange twice during the construction drawing design phase; ④ Tables providing water volume requirements from various specialties to the plumbing and drainage department; ⑤ Tables providing general drainage requirements from various specialties to the plumbing and drainage department; ⑥ Tables providing drainage requirements related to process equipment from various specialties to the plumbing and drainage department; ⑦ Tables providing washing requirements from various specialties to the plumbing and drainage department; ⑧ Tables providing heat and cold load data from the main structural specialties; ⑨ Tables providing ventilation requirements from the main structural specialties; ⑩ Tables providing requirements for the electrical department from the main structural specialties; ⑪ Tables providing requirements for the telecommunications department from the main structural specialties; ⑫ Tables providing requirements for the automation control department from the process engineering specialties. If these are to serve as a guide for a project or design, it is necessary not only to have a clear understanding of the schedule but also to be aware of all factors that could affect that schedule, as well as the interactions and dependencies among design, procurement, and construction processes. This helps to create a solid foundation for overall project management.
