Design of the flow rate for the rainwater discharge pump

Rainwater cannot be discharged directly into rivers; it must be pumped to wastewater treatment facilities. What determines the flow rate of these discharge pumps? Please advise.
Please, some experienced teacher can give me some advice; I’d like to attend the class!
By checking historical weather data to determine the rainfall rate in millimeters per hour during extreme storms, and by taking into account the area of the factory site, the maximum flow rate can be calculated; by selecting a pump based on this flow rate, there is no risk of the factory area being flooded
