Can BIM design replace 3D process design software?

Currently, the **Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is promoting BIM in the design industry; it seems to be a form of 3D design as well. What are the differences between it and the 3D design software that was previously promoted in the chemical industry?
This post was last edited by Wise Ming on 2019-2-24 22:46. BIM is more suitable for the construction industry, while PDS or PDMS is more appropriate for the chemical industry.
PDMS is in line with the BIM concept; however, at present it is mostly used for piping installation, with no information actually incorporated into the model. But the so-called BIM in the construction industry is more or less the same.
