Looking at the drawings from the design institute, the liquid ammonia storage tanks and the ammonia system are all equipped with overpressure safety valves for protection. So what happens when the pressure drops? How is the pressure in the liquid ammonia system kept stable?
The vapor pressure of liquid ammonia is 0.8 MPa; when the pressure drops, the liquid phase evaporates into the gas phase to maintain the pressure.
The liquid ammonia storage tank itself establishes a gas-liquid equilibrium, with the normal pressure being the vapor pressure at that temperature. A drop in pressure is usually caused by too rapid output of ammonia; under normal conditions, the delivery of ammonia is balanced with the evaporation of liquid ammonia.
A vacuum vaporizer with a Yali interlock mechanism can be added to automatically vaporize and increase pressure when the pressure is low.
