There is a flushing line that comes from the diesel outlet air cooler inside the outlet valve of our diesel hydrocracking feed pump. What is the purpose of this flushing line? Is it the product diesel that is used to flush the raw diesel inside the pump when it is shut down?
The purpose of this flushing oil line is to use a relatively clean product, such as diesel, to flush the sealing rings of the feed pump, thereby preventing particles from the raw material from accumulating on those sealing rings and causing wear and damage that could lead to leaks.
The pump is equipped with a dedicated seal flushing oil supply to the pump itself, rather than to the area in front of the outlet valve
